Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my step count updating?
Stepper reads steps from Apple Health, so it needs permission to do that. Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Stepper on your phone and make sure Steps is turned on. Syncing happens periodically in the background, not instantly with every step — if it's still off after a few minutes, try opening the app to force a refresh.
When do leaderboards reset?
Every week, automatically — you don't need to do anything. Your rank from the previous week stays visible for a bit so you can see how you did, then a fresh board starts.
How do groups work?
A group is a private leaderboard just for the people in it — friends, family, coworkers, whoever. Groups have their own chat too, so you can talk trash or cheer each other on while you compete.
Can I change my city, country, age range, or gender for leaderboards?
Yes, from your profile in the app. Those are what drive the city, country, and age/gender-filtered leaderboards, so keeping them accurate keeps your rankings accurate.
How do I report a group, message, or user?
From the relevant group, message, or profile in the app — look for the report option there. Every report is reviewed by a real person, not just auto-actioned.
How do I delete my account?
In-app, under Settings → Delete account. It's permanent — your profile, activity history, messages, and records are all removed. You can also email us to request this if you'd rather not do it from the app.
Is Stepper free?
Yes — every leaderboard, every scope, every week, free to use.
Is Stepper available on Android?
Not yet — Stepper is iOS only right now.
Still stuck?
If none of the above covers it, just email stepper.app@airbok.com with what you're seeing — screenshots help — and we'll sort it out.
