Privacy Policy
Speeky · last updated 12 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Airbok Company Limited ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Speeky mobile app and related services (the "Service"). Speeky is built to work phone to phone: most of what you share goes directly to the people on your channel and never reaches our servers.
Geographic availability
The Service is available in all countries and regions except Mainland China. Hong Kong SAR, Macao, and Taiwan are included. This Policy describes how we handle personal information and the rights available under applicable privacy laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information from, or offer the Service to, individuals located in Mainland China.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your name and email address, and if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email they share with us (Apple may give us a private relay address). If you sign up with email, your password is stored only in hashed form, and we send a 6-digit code to confirm your address. Codes are stored only in hashed form and expire after 15 minutes; accounts that are never confirmed are deleted automatically.
Location. Only when you turn on location sharing in a channel, your position, elevation, direction, and speed are sent to the people on that channel, including while your screen is locked if you allow it. Location goes phone to phone, or through our internet relay when someone is out of range. We don't store your location on our servers or keep a history of where you've been.
Voice and messages. When you talk or send a text message, it goes to the people on your channel. Between nearby phones it travels over an encrypted direct link; when someone is out of range it passes through our internet relay over an encrypted connection. We don't record or store voice or messages on our servers. Messages are kept on the phones on the channel and deleted after 24 hours.
Transcription. If you turn on transcription, voice is turned into text on your phone using Apple's on-device speech recognition. It is not sent to us.
Distance and direction (radar). On phones that support it, Speeky measures the distance and direction to people on your channel using the phone's Ultra Wideband chip. This is worked out on the phones and is not sent to us.
Channels. Channel names, codes, and your settings are stored on your phone.
Payment information. We do not collect or store your card details. Add-ons are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store, and payment is processed entirely by Apple. We only receive confirmation of which add-ons are active, via Apple and RevenueCat.
Biometric data. If you turn on Face ID or fingerprint sign-in, that check happens entirely on your phone using its own operating system, and your sign-in details are kept in your phone's keychain. Airbok never receives, stores, or has access to any biometric data.
Support requests. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
We don't use advertising, analytics, or tracking tools, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the Service: sign you in, connect you to your channels, and pass voice, messages, and (when you share it) location to the people on them.
- To send you transactional email: sign-in codes and notices about your account or add-ons.
- To apply the add-ons you've bought, such as how many people your channels can hold.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse, such as limiting how many codes can be requested.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your voice, messages, or location to train any AI model.
Legal basis for processing (where applicable)
Where applicable privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract(providing the Service you signed up for - your account, channels, voice, and messages); consent (location sharing, background location, notifications, and Face ID sign-in, all of which you turn on yourself and can turn off at any time); legitimate interests(keeping the Service secure and preventing abuse), balanced against your rights; and legal obligation (where we must retain records for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes). Withdrawing consent doesn't affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
3. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Speeky, each bound by their own privacy and security commitments:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts and sign-in, and the internet relay that passes voice, messages, and locations between phones out of range of each other (passed through live, not stored) |
| Amazon Web Services (SES) | Sending sign-in and account emails (6-digit codes) from OTP@airbok.com |
| RevenueCat | Add-on and subscription status |
| Apple / Google | Sign-in (if you choose those options) and in-app purchases (Apple) |
| OpenFreeMap | Map tiles for the map; it sees your IP address and the map area your phone downloads |
The people on a channel with you see your name, hear your voice, read your messages, and, when you share it, see your location. That sharing is the purpose of a channel, and is separate from the service providers above. The channel leader can also see who has joined or asked to join.
We do not share your data with advertisers, and we do not sell it to data brokers.
4. Where your data lives
Your account is stored on Supabase infrastructure, protected by encryption in transit and access rules so that only you and our sign-in system can use it. Voice, messages, and locations sent through the internet relay pass through Supabase's servers live and are not saved. Everything else Speeky keeps (channels, messages, settings) stays on your phone.
International transfers. Our service providers (Section 3) may process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where required by applicable law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and/or other recognized safeguards to protect those transfers.
5. Your choices & rights (all users)
- Location. Turn location sharing on or off in any channel, and change Speeky's location permission in your phone's Settings at any time.
- Messages. Messages delete themselves after 24 hours, and you can clear them sooner with the Clear button.
- Delete your account. From Account → Delete account, you can permanently delete your account and the data associated with it.
- Turn off notifications, transcription, or Face ID sign-in at any time in the app or in your phone's Settings.
Additional rights under applicable privacy law
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data; restrict or object to certain processing; receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format; and withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us (Section 8). We will respond within the period required by applicable law. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you're in the United States (CCPA/CPRA and other state laws)
Depending on your state, you have the right to: know what personal information we've collected about you and why; delete personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate personal information; and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of - this right is provided as a matter of transparency. Precise location is only ever shared with the people on your channel, when you turn sharing on. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To exercise them, contact us (Section 8); we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
6. Data retention
- Your account: for as long as it's active, until you delete it.
- Sign-in codes: 15 minutes. Unconfirmed accounts: deleted once their code expires.
- Messages: on the phones on the channel, deleted after 24 hours.
- Voice, messages, and locations sent through the internet relay: not stored.
If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain limited records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. Records of App Store purchases are kept by Apple under its own policies.
7. Children's privacy
Speeky is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 16 (consistent with GDPR's default age of consent) or under 13 (the threshold under the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, "COPPA"). If we learn we've collected personal information from a child under these ages, we'll delete it. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us (Section 8).
8. Contact us

9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
